sync signs - Speed up correcting

<

Project Info:

Challenge
Ease the workflow between the corrector and the editor in a publishing company.

Outcome
By closing the gap between the use of traditional correction signs and the adaptation into an application, the concept enables seamless interaction between both stakeholders.

How it works
Interviews with publishers revealed clearly the need to write directly into the document by using the already existing correcting signs. This concept allows to write the adjustments on a tablet by using an interactive pencil. A synchronization into the corrected digital document enables a quicker handling for the following work. Furthermore this process is supported by access to dictionary and grammar programs. Also the communication and connectivity with fellow workers and the publishing company is provided by a chat function. This allows an efficient workflow around the document for every staff member involved in the correcting workflow. The inspiration for this project came from an Adobe programme (Incopy) in combination with a tablet device and an interactive pencil. My part in this project was especially developing the concept, building wireframes, research by means of additional interviews and fitting the interface design in the correcting function.
